Advent calendar

  • Sunday, November 30
    • 10 am service: First Sunday of Advent (Hope) with guest preacher Rev. Marvin Ellison, PhD.
      • Drawing on the life story of the late U.S. Congressman John Lewis, Ellison will speak, in a sermon titled “Holding onto Hope,” about an ethic of hope in perilous times and our calling to exercise the distinctive “powers of the weak” to keep hope alive. The scripture reading will be Luke 1:5-13, 24-25.
  • Sunday, December 7
    • 10 am service: Second Sunday of Advent (Peace)
  • Sunday, December 14
    • 10 am service: Third Sunday of Advent (Joy)
    • Promise Singers Concert, 2 pm
  • Sunday, December 21
    • 10 am service: Fourth Sunday of Advent (Love) and Christmas Pageant Sunday
      • All children (and their grown ups!) are warmly invited to join in on our annual First Church No-Rehearsal Pick-Up Christmas Pageant!  Come to the church between 9:30 and 9:45 am, and we will have angel halos, animal costumes, and more ready for you! Our Sunday Service starts at 10am and the pageant is part of the service – we will sing Christmas Carols and invite children forward as we tell each part of the Christmas Story. We have costumes in adult sizes too – all are welcome!

  • Sunday, January 4
    • 10 am service: Epiphany Sunday

Christmas events & services

Greens Workshop

  • Sunday, November 30 from 12 – 4 pm: Join our Missions team on Sunday, November 30 from 12 to 4 pm to make evergreen wreaths and swags for Missions’ upcoming holiday fundraiser! There will also be a table for woodland ornament crafting (materials provided). Lunch will be available for all crafters!
