Today in our All Family worship (where we worship as one family, all ages together in the room and together around the table) Margaret Wise Brown (author of Goodnight Moon), Albus Dumbledore, and Pastor Emily remind us of what’s important on this All Saints Day and Sunday before the election. What’s your important thing? I hope, dear Christians, that love is part of your answer.
Note: part of our service before the sermon included singing “Oh When the Saints Go Marching In” and coming forward to write names of Saints in our lives – people we’ve loved and lost – on the communion table. Here’s a photo of the table, covered in names of those we’ve loved. This is the visual that goes with our discussion of the table reaching across time and space to all who have ever feasted in love.
