Our 7pm service is a service of Lessons and Carols. This sermon was shared after a holy and spirited series of five lessons and carols, and just before we sang “Silent Night” as a congregation with our candles lit.

“And so we sing of silent nights on nights that are anything but silent, because that’s what our faith calls us to do: we believe in light even as we are in darkness, we believe in hope even when all seems hopeless, we believe in silence even in noisy barns when the sounds of cattle and our own fears ring loud in our ears, we believe that God is being born all around us even if we cannot see it. Ours is a story of the unexpected: a savior born in a barn, love kindled in a time of hate.”
