The First Congregational Church – UCC of Bridgton is very pleased to announce that the inspirational, Southern Gospel group, The Hyssongs, will be performing in its church sanctuary at 33 South High Street on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 7:00 PM.  There is free parking.  The church is handicap accessible.

Dell, Susan and Richard Hyssong travel full-time as the award-winning Hyssongs. Their energetic family ministry combines family vocal harmony, humor and brass instruments (trumpet and trombone) to delight audiences with their Christ-centered message, shared through the powerful medium of music. The family’s classical music background, along with the family’s harmony and specific chord structures, lend them a unique sound that has made quite an impact on audiences.

The group has been singing together as a family for more than 15 years.   The group was nominated Top New Trio during the 2013 Singing News Fan Awards and again in 2014. They have also consistently placed songs on Southern Gospel Top 40 charts, such as the 2013 single, “Oh What Name” and “Is It Just Me”.   In 2014, their song “God’s In Control” peaked at #24 on the Singing News radio charts.  Their current song, “Thinking About Going Home” peaked at #14 for the  month of August. The Hyssongs were the cover story in an issue of Christian Voice Magazine in 2012 and have been featured in Singing News Magazine several times. The group has also been featured on Paul Heil’s “The Gospel Greats” radio program.

The Hyssongs perform at more than 250 events each year throughout the United States and Canada. They minister in churches, auditoriums and on Gospel singing cruises, as well as on television and radio.  The Hyssongs have had the opportunity to sing annually at Dollywood as well as perform at Renfro Valley’s All-Night Sing. Through Compassion International, the group has also been privileged to sing in El Salvador, Central America.

The concert is free and open to the public.  A suggested donation of $10.00 can be collected at the door to help defray the cost of the event.  CDs will be available for sale.
